Chicago native and R&B/Soul artist Brandon James is a rising star who’s setting his sights on making an impact in the industry. Ellena Rodriguez in Pursuit of Dopeness described him as an "artist to watch in 2017." Brandon recently released his first music video for the song "Love Rising," from his upcoming EP "There She Goes." The EP is scheduled for release on August, 3rd 2018.
A Chicago native Brandon James was born “Brandon James Foster” on March 17th, 1987. He states that he “started doing music as an outlet for depression in Elementary School.” Not realizing his full potential at the time he also states that he “first realized his full potential and passion for singing at the age of 12, after being pushed to become involved in various music-related school projects to keep him out of trouble.” After high school, he challenged himself to become better at his craft, including taking voice lessons from Bobby Wilsyn one of the best Chicago Jazz musicians as well as Ars Musica, and Classical singer Andrew Schultze. Seeking to learn music at all levels he attended Columbia College of Chicago where he earned a degree in Music Performance & Music Business in 2009. The same year he got the chance to perform with legendary band Earth, Wind and Fire. Mastering his craft with regional performances and independent releases, Brandon began working with publicity company and indie label distributor EPR in 2015.
Currently, Brandon is touring and promoting his upcoming release "There She Goes," scheduled for release on August 3rd,2018. To date, Brandon has released two EP’s the 2016 “The Soul Sessions,” and 2017’s “The Divine Collection.” In the summer of 2017, Brandon performed with Bubba Sparxxx in his hometown of Chicago, wrapping up a successful regional tour and a two-year promotional campaign of his released E.P's. Brandon James's primary goal is to share his story and testimony through his music with millions of people all over the world. He seeks to inspire, touch hearts and provoke thought with his music.

Emerging artist Brandon James finally sees his daring and remarkable message being heard
Artist Brandon James has come full circle with the release of his new LP The Soul Sessions on April 30th. The release will be made available for purchase on his website www.branddo20music.com, ITunes and all major streaming networks. When asked what motivates him to spread his music and message, Brandon only has to point to his new single Something In The Way. The song is a perfect example of Brandon's signature story, his struggle with depression, struggle with poverty, refuge found in music, and his desire to help others through his music and charities.
Chicago native Brandon James was born "Brandon Foster". He states that he "started doing music as an outlet for depression early in life. I wasn't very popular in school and I was considered a latch key kid due to my mother's work schedule and my father's battles with alcoholism." On a teacher's suggestion to find extracurricular activities, Brandon joined choir. He finished the eighth grade with a determination to elevate his understanding of music and succeed with his own music.
Constantly challenging himself to become better at his craft, he has taken voice lessons from Bobby Wilsyn, Ars Musica and Andrew Schultze. He has played with Earth, Wind & Fire and performed at some of Chicago’s most notable venues including the UIC Pavilion and the House of Blues. Brandon has also earned a degree in music performance and business from the Columbia College of Chicago.
